About US
The sacred tribe Story…
Like most of us today, we were also trapped in the clutches of everyday life – information overload, multi-tasking, consistent stress, disturbed sleep, sedentary lifestyle, unhealthy diet, and the list goes on.… To get rid of these modern-day afflictions we tried a lot of fitness fads, but eventually found that unlike yoga there is no other form of exercise that can offer all kinds of mental and physical health benefits. We started doing yoga regularly and experienced its effects in our daily lives. We were simply hungry to know more about something we starting loving and dive deeply into it. Therefore, we signed up for our first 200 hours – yoga teacher training program in India.
During the training program we discovered the wonderful healing powers of yoga. It was a completely transformative and immersive experience that changed our perspective and knowledge of yoga profoundly. We simply felt better in our bodies, and experienced changes in our life, relationships, and world view. We started to understand that there is no contentment looking for happiness outside ourselves through material possessions, as these temporal things only bring temporary happiness. We were amazed, moved, inspired, and still are with the amazing things yoga can do for us.
This was a few years ago and since then we are on our yogic journey to improve our health and wellbeing. We have developed compassion, tolerance, and patience towards ourselves and others also and trying to live the yogic lifestyle every day. We are sincerely grateful for the gift of yoga and ardent about the continuous learning it provides.
The more we learned about yoga and its philosophy, the more compelled we felt to start a yoga blog. Today there is no dearth of information on the internet when it comes to health, wellness, yoga, or pretty much everything. But we have been doing a lot of research and living this holistic lifestyle for many years. We have discovered and have integrated a lot of things in our lives that have helped us live a happy, healthy, and abundant life!
Sacred Tribe Yoga is an initiative with the sole purpose of creating a community that believes we all deserve a lot happier and healthier life and that it is very much possible. Our mission is to share our passion, knowledge, and experiences about yoga. We want to motivate and help you improve your techniques and connect with the yogic lifestyle. We believe yoga has the potential of turning everybody’s life around. You just need to be open to it!

Founder/Writer
Hi! I am Urvashi, a 500-hour registered yoga teacher, content writer, editor, free spirit, and a wanderer living in Canada. I teach Hatha, Vinyasa, Restorative Yoga, and meditation. My yoga journey started a few years back when I joined a yoga teacher training school in India. The training transformed my life in so many ways. It made me a better person and more resilient than ever. Yoga to me is creating a safe and healing space in body by removing obstacles. I believe yoga is inclusive of all faiths, bodies, ages, and abilities and is mainly rooted in mindfulness. I am always thrilled about sharing my profound love and thoughts about this sacred practice and its healing powers. When not writing or on the mat, you can find me crocheting, cooking, dancing, and spending time with my family.

I was always fascinated by yoga but never realized its potential until a few years back when I signed up for a yoga teacher training program in India. Honestly, it was the best decision I ever made. It was an immersive and illuminating experience that let me reconnect with my mind and body. I discovered yoga’s healing powers in a real way. It cured my sinusitis, did wonders to my balance, strength, flexibility, and above all changed me completely as a person. My yogic journey started from there and since then I have diligently and religiously practiced yoga. Yoga has allowed me to tune in, shape up, chill out – all at the same time.
